Having slapped us in the face with 'Sickle Walk' last month, fearless Brooklyn experimentalists YHWH Nailgun share another intriguing preview of their forthcoming album 45 Pounds. 'Animal Death Already Breathing' is another visceral and percussive collage of sounds, covering vast sonic ground as bright steel drum samples give way to an unexpected interlude of ominous sub bass and blood curdling sound effects. Vocalist Zack Borzone's unique style is integral to the piece (and indeed the band's distinctive sound). Painting a mental image of Fever Ray and David Byrne being tortured inside a single body, it's like nothing we've heard before. 45 Pounds will arrive on the 21st of March via AD 93 and you'd be wise to grab a ticket to see them live at the ICA on the 2nd of April as we're betting it'll sell out. -Holly Mullineaux
